Yes. We are a mobile mechanic, so we replace pads, rotors and calipers right in your driveway, apartment lot or workplace parking lot. All we need is a safe spot to park next to your vehicle. That means no tow, no shop waiting room and no driving on bad brakes to get to a shop.

Many brake pads have a small metal wear indicator that squeals when the pads get thin. That noise is your warning to get them checked before they wear down further. A light squeak after rain or a car wash can just be surface rust on the rotors that goes away after a few stops, but a squeal that stays usually means it's time for an inspection.

Grinding usually means the pads are worn through and metal is rubbing on the rotor. That damages the rotors quickly and makes the car take longer to stop. Have it looked at as soon as you can. Since we come to you, you don't have to drive on grinding brakes to get to a shop.

Not always. We measure the rotors and check them for grooves, heat damage, warping and rust. If they are still in good shape and within spec, we tell you. If they are too thin or damaged, new pads won't work properly against them, and we will recommend replacing them together.

A shake or pulsing in the steering wheel or brake pedal when you stop usually points to rotors that are worn unevenly, often called warped rotors. A sticking caliper or worn suspension parts can cause it too. We inspect the brakes to find the actual cause before recommending a repair.

A soft or spongy pedal, or a pedal that sinks closer to the floor than it used to, can mean air or moisture in the brake fluid, a fluid leak or a problem in the hydraulic system. It's a safety issue, so get it checked right away. We inspect the system and explain what we find before any work is done.

Pulling to one side when braking is often caused by a sticking or seized caliper, uneven pad wear, or a problem on one side of the brake system. It can also come from tires or alignment. A brake inspection tells us which one it is.

It varies widely. Many pads last somewhere between 25,000 and 70,000 miles, but stop-and-go driving, towing, heavy loads, hilly roads and driving habits all make a big difference. Front pads usually wear faster than rear pads. If you're not sure when yours were last done, an inspection will tell you how much is left.

Not until you know why it's on. First make sure the parking brake is fully released. If the light stays on, it can mean low brake fluid, worn pads on some vehicles, or a problem in the brake system.
