Clicks but won't crank
A single click or rapid clicking when you turn the key usually means the battery doesn't have enough charge to turn the starter.

Why Car Batteries Go Dead
Some dead batteries are a one-time mistake. Others are a warning. These are the causes we find most often.
Lights or accessories left on
A headlight, dome light or phone charger left on overnight is the most common cause. A healthy battery usually recovers after a jump and a good drive.
An aging battery
Most car batteries last about three to five years. As they age they hold less charge, and eventually they can't start the car on their own.
Cold Ohio weather
Cold temperatures reduce a battery's power while making the engine harder to turn over, which is why weak batteries often fail on the first cold morning.
Short trips
Starting the engine takes a lot of power. If most of your drives are short, the alternator may never fully recharge the battery.
Charging system problems
A failing alternator or slipping serpentine belt won't keep the battery charged, so it goes dead again even after a jump.
Parasitic drain or corrosion
Something that stays on after the car is off can drain the battery overnight, and corroded terminals can block the charge from getting through.

How much does a jump start cost?
Call or text 937-609-3554 and we'll give you an upfront price before we head out, so there are no surprises and no hidden fees. Because we don't pay rent on a traditional shop, our overhead is lower and those savings are passed on to you. If testing shows the battery or another part needs replacing, we quote that upfront too, and nothing is replaced until you approve it.
Can you jump-start my car at my home or work?
Yes. We come to your driveway, apartment lot, workplace parking lot or wherever your vehicle is parked. We use a professional jump pack, so we don't need to park nose to nose with your car and you don't need a second vehicle or jumper cables. All we need is safe access to the vehicle.
When can you come out for a jump start?
We're a mobile repair service, not a 24-hour roadside tow company. Our hours are Monday through Friday 10am to 8pm and Saturday 10am to 2pm. Call or text 937-609-3554 and we'll tell you right away how soon we can get to you.
Is jump-starting safe for my car's electronics?
It is when it's done correctly. Connecting cables in the wrong order, letting the clamps touch or using a running car with a voltage spike can damage modules on newer vehicles. We use a professional jump pack, connect to the points your manufacturer specifies and check the system afterward, so your vehicle's electronics are protected.
Do I need a jump start or a new battery?
A jump only gets the engine started. It doesn't tell you whether the battery can still hold a charge. That's why we test the battery after every jump. If lights were left on overnight, a healthy battery will usually recover once the alternator recharges it. If the battery is weak or four or more years old, it will likely go dead again, and our battery replacement service can swap it on the same visit.
Why won't my car start even after a jump?
If the engine still won't crank with a good jump, the problem may be a failed starter, a bad battery cable or terminal, a blown fuse or a security system issue. If it cranks but won't fire, the battery wasn't the problem at all and the cause is more likely fuel, ignition or a sensor. We test on the spot to find out which, and our engine diagnostics service covers the harder cases.
How long should I drive after a jump start?
Plan on driving at least 20 to 30 minutes, preferably at highway speed, so the alternator can put charge back into the battery. Short trips around town may not be enough, especially in cold weather. A deeply drained battery may still need a full charge or replacement, and if the battery warning light comes on while you drive, have the alternator checked.
Why does my battery keep dying?
A battery that keeps going dead is usually worn out, not being recharged because of a charging system problem, or being drained while the car is parked by something that stays on (called a parasitic drain). Loose or corroded terminals can cause it too. If you need more than one jump, we test for all of these so the same thing doesn't happen next week.
Why does my car just click when I turn the key?
A single click or rapid clicking with no crank usually means the battery doesn't have enough charge to turn the starter, or a corroded or loose terminal is blocking the flow. A jump usually gets it running. If the battery is charged and the car still only clicks, the starter or its connections are the more likely cause.
Can you replace my battery during the same visit?
Yes, in most cases. If the test shows your battery is done, we can supply and install a quality replacement right there and take the old battery with us for proper recycling. Some vehicles need the new battery registered with the car's computer, and we take care of that too.

Yes. Any parts we supply and repairs we perform, including a replacement battery, are backed by our 12-month / 12,000-mile warranty.
